Lumen Review is a global journal platform where high school students around the world express their ideas through writing and share intellectual and empathetic insights on diverse topics.
Through creative writing, academic reviews, and opinion essays, we provide a platform where high school students from around the world can illuminate their voices.
Founded with the belief that writing can spark empathy and change, we operate entirely by students—for students.
We didn’t start Lumen just to publish.

Our mission is to encourage young people to express their ideas through academic writing, challenge existing stereotypes, and foster creative and critical thinking. We aim to provide young writers with meaningful opportunities for academic writing to enhance their academic portfolios and engage in global communication and collaboration.

The Lumen Editorial Team
Our editorial board is fully student-led, with each member contributing to both the creative and operational aspects of the journal. We collaborate as a club-style team, reviewing submissions, curating content, and organizing each issue from start to finish.
Team Members
- Editor-in-Chief: Leads planning, scheduling, final review
- Managing Editor: Manages communication with contributors, deadlines
- Category Editors: Review and provide feedback by category (Creative/Academic/Opinion)
- Design & Website Lead: Handles design, cover, and web editing
- Outreach & Social Media: Promotes on social media, schools, and contests
